Accounting is the operating layer of every business. In Central Europe, that layer is still run through fragmented bureaus, manual workflows, legacy tools, email threads, PDFs and spreadsheets. It is a large, trusted, mission-critical market — but it was built for a different era.
Paycraft is rebuilding that layer from the inside. We do not sell software to accounting firms and hope they change. We acquire and operate the bureaus ourselves, then transform their workflows with AI, automation, licensed experts and one shared platform.
For SMEs, Paycraft becomes a modern accounting and payroll partner: real-time, compliant, human-signed and AI-powered. For mid-market and enterprise clients, the same platform is delivered as an embedded finance operations layer — expert-led, platform-backed, connected to the client's systems and ready for the agentic enterprise.

Three chapters.
Symmetrical.
We built Symmetrical Payroll into a €1M+ ARR back-office business between 2019 and 2026. We learned three things. First, software cannot be sold to CEE SMEs — they don't buy it voluntarily; they have to be operated into it. Second, M&A is the only GTM that actually distributes in this market. Third, when frontier AI finally crossed the production accuracy threshold for accounting work in 2025, the cost-to-serve compression was so steep that the playbook stopped being a roll-up and started being a platform.

In early 2026 we carved Paycraft out of symmetrical.ai. Same operators, same legacy syndicate on the cap table, broader vertical, and the AI engine that had finally arrived.
The next decade.
We are building the SME financial OS for Central Europe. Back-office first. Cash, payments and embedded credit next. Forty thousand bureaus in Poland, eighty to a hundred thousand across CEE-6, two million SMEs downstream — the largest underbuilt vertical on the European map. The same platform, deployed two ways: operated through bureaus we acquire, and forward-deployed through enterprise FDEs. Same data, same compounding.
